COVER AND EDITORIAL PHOTOGRAPHY – NUBIAN BRIDE
Bridal fashion editorial photography is what dreams are made of! At least when you are a fashion and lifestyle photographer. Our team travelled to Johannesburg to shoot the cover and main fashion editorial for Nubian Bride Magazine. This premium mag has been a trend setter in bridal fashion for african brides and we couldn’t wait to work with this hand-picked team! The theme was urban and we couldn’t be happier with the choice. We love doing editorial photography on location, with all the challenges present. Location editorial photography is so alive and brings a completely different dynamic! We got to shoot in Johannesburg’s trendy art district called Maboneng.
The team started makeup and hair early, in a hotel room filled with wedding gowns and accessories. Makeup artists and stylists created multiple looks, with visionary combinations of gowns and accessories. We strolled along the streets of Maboneng, capturing our models in a trendy architecture. The girls had lots of fun parading the opulent designer gowns amongst graffiti walls and local coffee shops for our editorial photography. We stopped traffic, got rounds of applause from the locals and enjoyed every moment of this sensational editorial shoot.
Day two of Nubian Bride cover shoot started with fresh styling and exciting new looks. The girls patiently waited, as the makeup artists and hair stylists created the magazine looks. We were amazed by the mastery of makeup and styling! The looks kept appearing out of piles of accessories and rows of wedding gowns. We explored some more iconic Maboneng sites and created many editorial photography gems. It was so hard to choose spots, everywhere we turned there was a cool structure, graffiti wall or a local shop worth capturing. Johannesburg’s trendy district was a winning choice for this urban editorial!
Have a look at the printed version and enjoy these extraordinary images with us. They are truly a result of next level creative collaboration. We are looking forward to doing more editorial photography with Nubian Bride team!
