Marlize and Gyorgy – Botlierskop wedding photography
When you think safari wedding, you expect a vast landscapes with wild animals grazing on it. And that’s exactly what Marlize and Gyorgy’s Botlierskop wedding photography looks like! Elephants are walking in the background, rhinos are curiously peeking at the couple from the distance. Botlierskop provides the ultimate experience when it comes to safari themed weddings! This fabulous venue has it all, from the abundance of wildlife literally on your doorstep, to five star luxuries and great catering.
Marlize and Gyorgy met on the cruise ship, where they both work, travelling the world together. After travelling the world together, Gyorgy took Marlize to Botlierskop Game Reserve and asked her to marry him. Marlize said “yes”! The couple decided to bring Gyorgy’s family from Hungary over to Botlierskop, where they got engaged, for a true safari wedding.
Bride and groom were getting ready in tents, but the only resemblance of a tent in this case is a canopy roof. The rest is pure luxury, with free standing bath tubs and pillar-crowned beds. The african styled rooms provide the ideal background for Marlize and Gyorgy’s Botlierskop wedding photography. We did preparation photos in the most beautiful light coming through the trees onto the bride and her bridesmaids. The drivers took us from the tents to the ceremony venue, overlooking the lake.
Marlize looked breathtaking when she walked down the aisle, holding the arm of her father. Stylish Olivetti gown crowned with delicate veil and a bouquet of fresh peonies were the perfect details for this elegant bride. Bridesmaids looked fabulous in pastel, full-length gowns, each holding a bouquet of roses. The ceremony reminded us about the essence of marriage, and we all applause the newlyweds as their kissed for the first time as Mr and Mrs Szekely.
After family and friends showered the couple with fynbos confetti, we took Marlize and Gyorgy around for their Botlierskop wedding photography. We got to take photos with elephants and rhinos, accompanied with the real thrill. When a couple of rhinos jogged towards us, we decided we had more than enough safari photos and moved to the venue. The uber-professional staff from Botlierskop assisted us during the entire shoot, making sure we are safe and looked after.
Reception venue was beautifully decorated with lanterns and flowers. Sureen from Love Stori Weddings created stunning pieces of decor that complimented the venue perfectly. Hessian and lace runners were covered with candles and flower arrangements, combining elegant roses with fynbos. Rustic lanterns as centrepieces gave a lovely ambient light for the reception. The absolute best was Marlize and Gyorgy’s wedding cake! It was a replica of Queen Victoria, the cruise ship where their love story stared. Insanely-detailed Queen Victoria was sitting on top of sugar suitcases, with travel stickers and polaroid photos from their travels around the world. After the couple cut this lush chocolate cake, the party started. We were very impressed with the wedding guests, keeping the dance floor busy all night long! Botlierskop staff lit a huge fire outside the reception hall, making the place feel romantic and cosy.
We absolutely loved capturing Marlize and Gyorgy’s Botlierskop wedding photography. Wishing the couple only calm waters for their journey ahead, we would like to thank Mr and Mrs Szekely for trusting us with their precious memories.
