Monique & Nick’s Cape Town destination wedding
What a wedding! What a bride!
Monique and Nick travelled all the way from Australia for their Cape Town destination wedding. Since both of their roots originate in South Africa, it was a homecoming for the couple and for a lot of guests. The family and friends, scattered around the world, enjoyed coming back to picturesque Cape Town to witness Monique and Nick’s ceremony.
The Bride and her bridesmaids got ready in the historical Manor House. This spacious home filled with luxuries is one of my favourite preparation venues! With high ceilings and antique chandeliers, it creates just the right setting for all the bridal preparations. We can hang the dress in the middle of the room and focus on all the fine details. And there was a lot to focus on! Monique chose a very special dress for her Cape Town destination wedding, a one-of-a-kind gown from Galia Lahav. This iconic and very much sought-after brand creates visionary outfits for princess-like brides around the world. Monique had us all breathless when she stepped into her dress and it fitted her like a glove!
The ceremony was held in the venue’s chapel. The tight space of the historical cellar makes the ceremony intimate and cosy. In addition, the chapel was filled with greenery hanging from the roof and hundreds of candles. Monique walked down proceeded by her bridesmaids, all dressed in long blush gowns.
The reception of Monique and Nick’s Cape Town destination wedding took place in the main hall of the venue, the historical grand wine cellar. We have never seen this room look so exquisite! The entire double-story roof was filled with greenery, making the hall look like a fairy castle. The guests were seated at the long tables, also filled with greenery and candles. Overall, the colours of the decor were shades of green and earthy brown, with giant dry proteas placed on the tables and branches hanging from the roof.
The lively reception carried on long into the night, filled with live music and laughter. Even though our time was up, the video team didn’t want to leave the venue! We stood at the door taking in the last memories of this incredible celebration.
We wish Monique and Nick all the best on their journey.
We feel privileged to be able to capture their extraordinary celebration!
